She was born in Istanbul on February 17, 1972, and lives in Bodrum.
From a young age, she had a natural inclination towards drawing and painting, which turned into a lifelong passion. This is not something she consciously decided to pursue; it feels like a part of who she is.
In her art, she prefers female figures with a direct and determined perspective, questioning traditional gender roles and social expectations. Historically, women have often been portrayed as passive objects in art and media, while male characters are depicted as more active and assertive. She aims to challenge these stereotypes by presenting women as artists and creators with a direct and defiant gaze.
She loves using bright colors to evoke emotional responses. She believes that colors have the power to reflect or enhance the emotional distance of a story or a character.
Concepts and themes play an important role in shaping her work. These can stem from personal experiences, social issues, or philosophical ideas. These concepts provide her with a foundation to express her thoughts or convey a particular message through her art.
The artist refers to her portraits as “chromatic muses,” emphasizing that the figures in her portraits are not just individuals but also sources of inspiration and creativity, radiating a vivid and captivating energy.
